“Nothing special, but they weren't bad”
Review of Air Namibia

Reviewed 10 October 2018

Nothing wrong with this airline, they are basic and no frills, the service wasn't bad, but not exceptional. The flight was an hour and half late which was annoying, but no reason why we wouldn't fly them again.

it was a joy to see an all African staff mostly from Namibia and Angola. They were very kind and accommodating.

These days it is rare that a flight isn't choc full of passengers, so it was unusual that this one was only about 30% full. Left roughly on time, decent service and reasonable food.

I am utterly disgusted with Air Namibia’s service. My Great Aunt and her husband was going to fly to Namibia from South Africa in November. Her husband needs a constant supply of oxygen for medical reasons, but Air Namibia refused to give her any details about the requirements, regulations or costs involved until she made the booking. Upon making and paying for their tickets, Air Namibia suddenly informed her that they weren’t allowed to take his own oxygen and that the airline would organize it at an additional N$14,000. That price being more than they could afford, she requested to cancel the booking. And what does Air Namibia do, they withhold R3,000 as a cancellation fee. Let me repeat the facts: AN refused to give the relevant info until the booking was made and then required a cancellation fee to be paid a month in advance.

Just as an FYI, he flew to Canada earlier this year at R18,000 for a return flight with the oxygen.

Knowing that this is how you treat your clients, I am happy to pay more to fly with British Airways or South African Airways.

One of the worst flight experiences I have ever had. Windhoek airport, and Air Namibia, was poorly organized, didn't announce flights, slow check in, etc. The food was horrible - served beef which was tougher than shoe leather. Hot and uncomfortable. Didn't have a choice, as this was the only flight that worked our schedule, but will look at alternatives in the future.
