Horrible flight tide seat, unfriendly staff and late!!!
Was a try after 2 years to fly with air Canada but for sure the last time!!! Using quite a variety of companies over the last years but that is one of the worced experience!!!
Good luck but with out us that's for sure!!!!

Just been on a flight from Heathrow to Toronto - I would say a tiny bit below average. I have flown many a times with companies such Quantas and BA and I would say air Canada has been the worst.
First of all some members of staff wasn't very pleasant however the others were so was a bit of a mix.
Boarding was just stupid, they said it was being done in zones and told us (zone 3) to stand back but then announced for 1,2,3,4 to come forward so what was the point of putting us in zones!! Just caused as much chaos!
Was late taking off (not always the airlines fault to which I understand) however was all a bit mix match.
The on board entertainment was shockingly bad. The films were the best but the music and TV was just random stuff no one had heard off (even the Canadian guy who was sat next to me!).
Food was alright for an airline and there was drinks offered a lot.
Duty free was probably the best bit after the boredom of 7 hours with a TV that was pointless!

The following is our experience with them
3/8 due to fly from Fairbanks, Alaska to Anchorage with Air Alaska, 11.20 arrive 12.20 all OK.
Due out Anchorage on AIR CANADA 3.05pm arrive Vancouver 7.09pm - NO
Plane broke down didn't leave until 7.30pm which meant we would be running late for connecting flight to Brisbane at 11.45pm. We notified staff on the ground and in the air of our circumstances (6 of us) and upon landing the pilot announced that the flight to Brisbane was being held for us and to hurry to gate D64. After running all the way through Customs etc we arrived at the gate to be informed that it had left on time 10 minutes earlier. Could not even hold a 14+hour flight for 10 mins when our lateness was caused by them and after being told in front of a full planeload that they would hold it. Rebooked on flight for next night 4/8 at 11.45pm
Given vouchers for accommodation and food ($7.00 for breakfast, $10 for lunch, $12 for dinner, which was all spent on breakfast next morning) and told that our baggage would be available downstairs. No luggage downstairs. The guy showed us where our luggage had been scanned onto the plane we missed at 11.26, 11.27, 11.28 etc. Major security breach as luggage should not have travelled without us. Night at motel in Vancouver without change of clothes or toiletries. 4/8
Arrived at airport around midday to try and confirm that our luggage was in Brisbane and to get new boarding passes. Explained to girl at check-in what had happened as to why we had no luggage. She phoned Manager as this was a security issue. Cover up begins, down comes John, who tries to tell us luggage was still at Vancouver airport but couldn't say where or produce it, let alone why we were informed it had been scanned previous night. Over several hours he then produced boarding passes for all 6 of us, more meal vouchers and pathetic stories from him.....humour the Aussies to stop them asking questions or demanding their luggage. Head to gate D64 was again for 11.45pm flight to Brisbane. Delayed, delayed and at 1.00am informed that the plane had maintenance issues and would not be departing until 10.00am 5/8. Customers were advised that their luggage would be retrieved from the plane if they needed it which some did. Thought we would test the cover ups we had been given all day and request ours. Basically abused and told that they wouldn't strip the plane to find it....AIR CANADA knew it wasn't onboard. Slept on floor at the airport that night still in same clothes and no toiletries since early 3/8, also out of medication.
Finally flew out 10.30am. 5/8 Arrived back in Australia 6/8 around 7.30pm. Baggage appeared on carousel placed side by side ? Sure this happens all the time. No domestic flight available so night in motel, flew home 7/8.
Domestic connecting flight had to be rebooked 3 times.
Additional costs at every turn that we have to recover.
Never fly AIR CANADA - they have no replacement planes in case of breakdowns, security issues with unaccompanied luggage, cover ups.

Case got covered in yoghurt in overhead locker
Which was left by a previous passenger
Contacted 3 members of staff. Ended up in the toilet cleaning it myself.
Poor meal. Poor attention by staff.
No cabin check prior to landing. Ie seats upright. Seatbelts on etc.
Sent in a complaint, got offered money off our next flights.
No thanks.

We wanted to take the flight from Quebec to Vancouver, via Montreal. Quebec - Montreal flight was delayed twice (weather conditions they said), cancelled and then we were allocated to another one leaving two hours later. Subsequently the other leg was rescheduled. The new flight was cancelled and then, after waiting 2 hours on the queue, we were told that they could not take us to Montreal and we should find a way on our own to get to Montreal. Finally we got a taxi to the bus station and a bus to Montreal airport during all the night.
Of course Air Canada didn't even refunded us for the cancelled leg of the journey. After all it was a service that we never received.
