Flew yestterday 21/4/2017 MRU/Reunion/Jhb
Flight delayed , no airconditioning, like a sweatbox, no apology, slight improvement on JHb leg but shocking discomfort

Check in was speedy and prompt. Flight was delayed and detours via Reunion. What a hassle in Reunion transit and it is a good job that the airline added another 30 minutes transit time or the flight would have had to be delayed again. Landed in Mauritius 2 hours after arrival scheduled time. On a plus note the food on both journeys was excellent by airline standards and the staff courteous. Baggage claim and customs clearance was speedy.

Enjoyable experience and good service. Definitely the most generous airline I've experienced when it comes to meals. Will definitely fly with them again.

I was flying from Nosy Be via Reunion to Paris. The Paris flight was cancelled and I was put up in Reunion. So far, ok. As the next day Paris flight arrived 6 hour earlier, Air Austral promised hotel accommodation overnight in Paris. Not honoured by staff in Paris. Also after claiming compensation for the delay, Air Austral has acknowledged the amount but has not yet paid. They continually delay, repeatedly asking for details given to them by email each time. Still waiting. Terrible airline.
