“You get what you pay for”
Review of LEVEL

Reviewed 5 January 2019 via mobile

You can't expect to be treated as the big companies when you pay less than 200€ per flight to the US. No blankets, no headphones, no food and no checked-in baggage. If you know it in advance it's not a big deal. Seats are comfortable, cabin crew professional and you can enjoy the multimedia system for free. Overall, it's okay

Thanks for the review. We understand that people who book through other sites/travel agents aren't aware of what they're going to get so we unfortunately don't meet their expectations. Glad we met yours though :) Hope to see you soon!

I thought I was flying Iberia, turns out it was Level airline flight #2622 direct flight from San Francisco California to Barcelona.
- Check-in process: you can’t add your TSA pre-check number online or when checking in at the airport. The airline does not have a contract with TSA pre-check.
- You can’t choose seats online, you have to call to select a seat in advance and there’s no map available online to refer to, so you have to rely on the description from the representative on the phone and just in your brain imagine where your seat will be.
- They don’t have a contract with TSA pre-check so if you’re flying out of the US you will not be able to go thru TSA pre-check.
- When the beverage cart comes around they don’t make eye contact, they just stroll and wait for you to tell them what you want. They passed right by me and did not ask if I wanted anything, actually they avoided eye contact. Later when I asked for a glass of wine they told me I had to wait for the cart to come back around. They proceeded to mansplain to me that they don’t disturb passengers when they’re watching movies. I told them that I was not watching the movie when the attendant was passing by and that she did not ask for my order. Next thing I know two man are in my face arguing that I must have been watching a movie and they don’t disturb passengers when they have their screen on.
- Food was never offered as well and there was no call light for the attendant. I was in seat 7A.
- No pillows, no blankets sure makes an 11 hr flight less than comfortable.
- They charge you for everything, the seat, food, the coffee in the morning €3.50 and it was disgusting.
- Not worth it, just pay the extra few dollars on a more professional and reputable airline that treats humans with respect and courtesy.

Purchased priority boarding at both London Gatwick & Vienna however they proceeded to provide everyone who didn't purchase the opportunity of putting their luggage into the hold for free and with that provided them priority boarding. I understand that it is sometimes required to put luggage into the hold however people who have paid extra money for specific services should be allowed to board first however this was not provided. Customer service is very rude and unhelpful ( bot like responses ) - quoting EU Regulations which have nothing to do with it it's basic consumer rights, services were not provided. Gives Ryanair a very good name in the industry. Horrific airline stay well away.

It's a budget airline, so you must accept that they don't spring for anything, and they are small so something goes wrong they won't have resources in place to assist. Thankfully nothing really went wrong on my flights (other than delay due to late arrival of aircraft in Orly). That said, compared to Norwegian, Level has a long way to go to make their premium product comparable/competitive. The seats in premium are not comfortable, barely larger than coach, recline less than Norwegian, and while there's more legroom once the person in front of you reclines you are basically trapped. Entertainment choices were meager, the food was ehh, only Coke or Coke Zero as soda choices. WiFi didn't work in either direction. I think worst was the crew, they were nice enough but really seemed to be doing only the bare minimum and most of the flight they were just chatting in the galley - it's like we passengers were an afterthought. Oh and they wanted $95 euro to select my seat in premium!?! Ground-side was generally disorganized and poor communication reigned - clearly one of the budget cuts was competence. I don't think I will fly this airline again.

Overall this was a pretty good experience, you get what you pay for, which is a ticket and nothing extra. Flight was delayed 30mins but ended up arriving on time. Seats were the same as any other seats: not a ton of leg room but fine for a 2 hour flight. Plane was new and clean.
We did not check in any baggages, so round trip for one person was 90€, which is a very good price. I would not recommend for long flights, but for something under 3 hours this is a perfectly fine experience.
