half way is about eden/merimbula/pambula.
u have to check with local council web sites about dog friendly beaches. some let them run free, other have to be on a lead. some have time zones for free play.
my experience on the south coast of nsw is that at most deserted beaches no one cares about the regulations anyway....mores the pity as nature suffers eg. little terns
We stayed at Narooma a couple of years back at a great dog friendly rental house. It was located in a suburb just north of the main township and had plenty of beaches to choose from. Send me a message if you want further details.
You are probably used to this being on the east coast but we didn't know about tics and had quite an education with them. We don't get them in most of Victoria. The house we stayed at was a few streets back from the beach, so you would have to walk or drive down to the beach....walk only took 5-10mins. Beaches were fantastic and rarely saw anyone on them.
