Vincentia NSW

Hi,

Has anyone been to Vincentia NSW which is a beach resort close to Jervis Bay? Is it a nice place to spend a weekend? Apart from the beaches what are the activities available there?

Is whale / Dolphin watching possible there? Any tour operators handling this type of activities?

Will be grateful for any info on the above enquiry

Thank you

Is that as an alternative to the Canberra trip you were asking about? It wasn't clear what transport you are using and you didn't reply to questions. You can get back to your old threads through your own profile, in case you have missed notifications.

Anyway, Jervis Bay is a lovely nature destination and whale -watching depends on when as they are migratory. What apart from beaches are you seeking? There are great beach destinations south and north of Sydney and if you tell us how long you want to spend there and what sort of experience you want

I typed all that and noticed your location is Sydney. Sorry, I was assuming it's another 'Sydney plus' itinerary question. But the advice remains the same, the more information you provide the more advice we can give in response and the more you talk to us the more we can help with useful details. TA isn't google, it's generous people who enjoy talking to other travellers.

Jervis Bay can be a confusing name, people mean different things.

Jervis Bay town itself, which is really small place, with a military population with a general store and not much else.

Jervis Bay - the Bay - a very large bay.

Jervis Bay - the traditional tourist area - Huskisson to Vincentia strip. From Husky Pub to Vincentia shops, a strip of holiday homes, restaurants, shopping, cabins, motels, beaches.

Jervis Bay - Booderee - National Park and Nature. Camping, Green Patch. Beaches.

Jervis Bay - the insta destinations - This is Hyams and surrounds. Right next to Vincentia, but you can't drive directly there.. you have to come out and in again along another narrow road, to a town that gets thousands of visitors, with a single coffee shop, and limited parking.

So, Vincentia puts you close to the centre of the traditional tourist area. Easy access to the boat tours, walks, playgrounds, restaurants etc. It would be my preferred place to stay in Jervis Bay.
