Please advise, only 2 hours in Verdon Gorge

i know, i know, i wish we had more time too, but i could only squeeze in a short period of time. we want to see the best view and scenery, and possibly hike a tiny bit. i assume most people either admire the view from the top rim, hike, or kayak in the water?

where is the most picturesque view point where we can park and hike a bit?

im looking for thoughts on that, where is the signature spot to get the best views that everyone goes to? for instance, at the grand canyon in the US, everyone goes to the south rim view points. and people walk back and forth on the rim.

There are several great spots, the most spectacular is here:

I've been to the Grand Canyon myself and found it not much more spectacular than the Gorges as there you can really stand at the rim.

No, Castellane is the base for way too many folks heading for the Gorges. Motorcycles, mobile homes, mountain bikers, cars... The road from Castellane to the Gorges reminds me of a quarry.

Moustiers is quite nice. That's the most scenic route to Nice:

YEA, my plan was to stop in Moustiers for lunch, and drive by in that route to Verdon...

so Belvédère de la Carelle is a much better view point than Castellane?

Castellane is a town and there is no view to speak of:

You can climb to the Chapelle Notre Dame du Roc with some view but you cannot compare it to the Gorges itself. View:

I live here and run a bnb. You cannot see the verdon gorges from Castellane. You wanted to drive the "Route de Cretes"; the 2 hour loop road that runs around the rim.
