Only very experienced and well-equipped hikers should even consider hiking in the Gorges du Verdon. They are certainly not somewhere for a family stroll.

Indeed it does depend on how you access the gorge and tplus has given you the easiest access point.

Here is the full walk which you can do either way round as the chalet Maline access point is gently sloping too.

I've seen many families walking in via the couloir Samson, passed some with babies on their backs not so long ago, you do need to take torches though and it can get a bit wet under foot at the start.

My sister in law has real problems with her hip when it comes to walking. We took her along that walk, accessing at the couloir Samson and walked for about an hour and a half then returned. She loved it...
