Where to stay in Macau......

Please can I have some help in regards to two nights acomadation in Macau. We would prefere a hotel that is not connected to a casino, however is within walking distance if we choose. A quieter hotel, at least 4 stars , just to busy with casino guests. Close to some shopping and tourist atractions.. Thanks for the help in advance..

You might want to have a look at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16.

Several of the big hotels on the Cotai Strip are close to, but not part of the casinos as far as I can see eg Four Seasons, adjoining the Venetian & Sheraton across the road, near COD. There is also the Banyan Tree in the Galaxy complex.

The MO is very nice, and doesn't have a casino, but it's right by the Wynn/ MGM places.

Another option downtown would be Sofitel Ponte No 16, which has a small casino, but that is definitely not the focus of the hotel.

Grand Lapa is another possibility (also owned by the MO group); it's about 2 minutes further by taxi or 15 minutes walk further to the city centre.
