Hwy 120 and Tunnel view/Glacier Point

Hwy 120 and Tunnel view/Glacier Point

Next tuesday we'll be entering YNP from the Hwy 120 Big Oak Flat entrance.

Is it better for the 'flow' to visit Tunnel view/Glacier point first or last if we need to use hwy 120 again to leave YNP?

option 1: visit first: it's in the drive 'flow', but it might take a while until we get into the village which might give us a parking problem as i've read on the forum.

Option 2: But if we visit Glacier Point last, google maps shows we have to take another loop before we can exit through hwy 120 again.

The first option looks the better one, but that would depend how crowded it gets in late May, if we could park near the center at around noon? ( we want to see Staircase Falls/Mirror Lake/Yosemite Falls)

Thanks for the insights!

I am not sure what you mean. "Village" is not a single place. Yosemite Village is the visitor center, store, museum, etc. Curry Village / HalfDomeVillage is a cluster of cabins & some dining.

If you enter via Hwy 120 and you're eventually headed to Yosemite Valley, then take the 2 mile detour 'toward' Glacier Point & Fresno after you drive across the River & Valley. Drive up to Tunnel View. Enjoy views. Drive back down toward the Valley and stop at Bridalveil Fall. Then drive into the Valley toward your lodging destination. If this is a day visit, then head to a parking lot (I recommend Yosemite Falls parking.)

You can see Yosemite Falls from many viewpoints.

Mirror lake/Meadow is a wide spot on Tenaya Creek. You walk or bike; no cars allowed. Use the shuttle to get to the trailhead.

Staircase Falls is seasonal. It's not high on the wish list for most visitors, but you can see it by walking from Curry Village / HalfDomeVillage.

Glacier Point will be very challenging for parking this year. If you're trying to visit Yosemite Valley AND Glacier Point in one day, then aim to arrive at Glacier Point a bit later in the day.
