Hello. I'm thinking of visiting the park the week after Christmas. I know it will be cold, but will the trails be hikable? Thank you
It might be snowy, icy. It will get dark by 5:00
Lower elevation trails are there like Happy Isles, walk to base of falls (no waterfalls or small flow if any), etc.

Depends on what trails you are thinking of. Those that go up the 2 "walls" (e.g. to Glacier Point, to Upper Yosemite Fall) - probably not. Or only part way. Those that go around the valley may be okay. If there is a fresh snow, you may be stepping on soft snow and you should have proper, water-proof boots to walk on them. Or else you risk frostbite on your toes.
Hi Meolafive, and welcome to TripAdvisor forums.
There is a 'winter route' available for the Mist Trail that is very popular. And there might just possibly be enough snow in the high country that you could snowshoe or cross country ski.
There is lots of fun to be had in winter. Check out the topics in the Top Questions on the right. Lodging is the priority, then read winter trip reports, planning a trip in winter, tire chains, & info about Yosemite Valley. (You need to be on the full TripAdvisor website to see the valuable Top Questions, not on the app.)
