We are scheduled to go to San Antonio from March 12-16. I know that the state is currently recovering from the awful weather - do you think that we should reschedule our trip or will things be okay to visit by then?

It depends less on the weather and recovery from the snow/ice/lack of water, and more on what will be open due to Covid.
Personally, I'd hold off on traveling to Texas until the virus is under control. Too many businesses, restaurants, parks will be closed or only partially open.
We'll give you a warm welcome when it's safe to do so!

71 helpful votes I have a different take on traveling - We've been traveling since the end of summer, simply using common sense.
We took a long weekend a few weeks ago to Houston/Galveston. Everything we wanted to do was open.
When we travel, we choose our attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping first, then build an itinerary, finally booking accommodations.
I agree...other than the Covid19 practices, travel should be fairly normal. Music and other large venues/events might still be limited,

278 helpful votes Personally I would keep my trip. We've travelled to SA during the pandemic and everything we wanted to do was open except for some restaurants. Regarding the winter storm, most people have water and power back, just dealing with broken pipes. Weather is beautiful again, going up into the 70s. Just use normal common sense - wear masks, wash hands, use sanitizer, etc. The only issue could be if the boil water notice is still in effect.
That is spring break for many TX schools so expect crowds.
