Coming to Madison June 2-3 for a low key (not wild) bachelorette party and looking for some things to do!
Budget? What are your interests? Where are you staying? Some more info would help guide the locals on what your options are.
I would start here:
Without any specific to go on, I would recommend a few hours of drinking at the Memorial Union Terrace... perfectly chill day-drinking spot in summer. Madison also has a great Farmer's Market on the Capitol Square on Saturdays. Brunch at Old Fashioned, also on the Square, is a must. There are a wide variety of bar/restaurant options downtown so you'll have to do some research/provide more info.
Have a great time.
We’re staying right downtown on State Street. So things in walking distance of short Uber ride would be preferred. We are planning on going to the farmers market, and dinner somewhere in the evening, but are looking for something to do in the afternoon. Probably something other than drinking. One of the ladies is pregnant so kayaks, biking, etc is not really an option. Cheap or free would be preferred. Thanks!
Adding to the 'if the weather is nice' list: could stroll around and see how many of the "Bucky on Parade" art installations you can find: https://buckyonparade.com/
And you may find you spend more time at farmer's market than a normal weekend, as it looks to be Cows on the Concourse weekend: http://www.cowsontheconcourse.org/
That's a busy weekend in Madison!
It's also cars on state:
and Isthmus jazz fest:
Personally, if the weather is great I'd head to the Memorial Union terrace that afternoon to listen to the jazz. In addition to being a popular day drinking spot, the terrace is also a fantastic place to get some Babcock hall ice cream so a great place to hang out even if beer isn't going to be consumed!
If the weather is not nice you could check out the two free art museums (Museum of Contemporary Art and the Chazen). Olbrich gardens has both outside and inside gardens, but would be an Uber ride away.
Enjoy your visit.
Another nice day suggestion would be to go for a walk in the Arboretum. There are some short walks that might be okay for your pregnant lady--depending on her month. It too is a short Uber ride.
