we stayed at villa lumbung in seminyak. the rooms are huge, the downstairs has a traditional lumbung roof. the staff great, a little quiet around the pool - but also peaceful. if there are two couples you could get a villa together one on the top floor and one on bottom. there is a interconnecting door that goes to the internal stairs.

still close enough to walk to fantastic restaurants. hu'u and sarong. living room and ku de tah not far.

Villa Des Indes through Laksmi/Laksmana Villas might suit what you're looking for - sumptuous colonial style.
