Hyde Park to Manhattan

We are traveling to Hyde Park from Manhattan by car with relatives. We need to return by train.

It looks like we can catch the train back in Poughkeepsie. Any issues we should be aware of?

The Metro North commuter trains http://www.mta.info/mnr are frequent and much less expensive than Amtrak. (and you do not have to reserve in advance like Amtrak.)

The Metro North trains go into Grand Central Terminal. Amtrak goes into Penn Station.

No reason to pay more for Amtrak.
