North Pacific Beach 3 Days

Hi All,

I am sure this has been asked, but I am staying at a Air B&B for 3 nights in North Pacific Beach next weekend. I am traveling with my wife (we are late 30s) and 2 kids (10 and 12). We are looking for must do and must eat places for dinner and lunch and activities. We know the major tourist places, but was hoping for advice on some fun things to do and eat. We love beer and wine and would like some spots where the kids can love the food and atmosphere and we can have drinks. In addition, can you recommend some must do activities other than food? Thanks so much!

I am not sure about "must do", but in what I would call North PB and Baja La Jolla (Birdrock) are a couple of good beaches for watching surfing, assuming there is surf. The spots are Old Man's (Tourmaline) and Birdrock.

For food you are close to Turquoise Street & Cass Street, both of which have some good places. The Fishery on Cass is one of San Diego's best seafood restaurants. Also in the area are Oscar's Mexican Seafood, Fig Tree (breakfast & lunch only) and Pernicano's, but you can go up to Birdrock or down to the main section of PB (Garnet & Mission) for a lot of choices.

I would put the Children's Pool and La Jolla Cove with the tide pools on the "must do" side of things and the Scripps Birch Aquarium in the "nice to do" category. Others love Belmont Park in Mission Beach, I am less a fan. The Big Dipper is only really good for reasons of nostalgia compared to modern coasters.

Hi ,

Not sure I understand your question? The "tourist spots" are fun so not sure what your definition of "other fun things to do" might be??

You can hike/walk in Torrey Pines State Reserve. You can watch the hang gliders take off from the Torrey Pines Gliderport(or go tandem if you dare).

You can take a surf lesson. You can go on a kayak tour.

This is a large city! Do you only want local La Jolla things or are you planning to see the rest of the city?? You can rent bikes and ride along the sea front.

In downtown on the bay you can visit the USS Midway. You can take a speed boat tour and on and on and on..........
