San Francisco lay over

We are arring in San Francisco (international airport) and have 7 hours before our flight out (during the day). Does anyone have any suggesitons as to what we could do in that time. Also is there a place that we can leave our luaggage at the airport if we can't check in for our carry on flight at that time?

What time of day? www.bart.gov can give you info on the schedule to/from Powell Street station. It's a 30-min. ride in one direction. You could spend two hours in this area where there is much shopping, dining, Yerba Buena Park, Union Square, cable cars for photo ops; or get out at Embarcadero Station, see the Ferry Building Marketplace www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com

You can hop on the F trolley heading north to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, view the sea lions, go to Ghirardelli Square, hop on the Powell & Hyde cable car heading back to Powell & Market.

Keep in mind that you really have to return with a cushion of time to get back through security and to your departing gate; you technically don't have a full 7 hours.
