Time for Bear Tooth Pass

We are traveling in an RV (from VA) and will be camping at Cody or Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone. If we are at Fishing Bridge, my question is, can we leave the campground and travel through the park to the North East entrance (in car) and back down the Beartooth pass in a day (before dark) or would we be better to do a day trip from Cody. If we do the day trip from Cody, this will take a day away from our park visit. We only have a total of three days. .....or should we just skip the Bear tooth Pass. We will be traveling from Billings to Cody in the RV and this will be our base for two nights, then we will move to Fishing Bridge for two nights.

As far as the park, we will not be doing in hiking. Mostly we want to see Old Faithful erupting and some of the other geysers.

You can go from Fishing Bridge to Rock Creek Vista (on the far side of the Pass) and return in one day. But it's a shorter drive from Cody, plus you get to drive the Chief Joseph Highway on the way to the Beartooth.
