We travel from Canada to Myrtle Beach about every 2 years, We have been staying in Bluefield and found it great, we had stayed at the Ramada up on the hill or what every it's called now, great rooms, pool for the kids after a 14 hour drive, would get Pizza Hut, KFC , Subway and everyone was happy. Decided in May of 2005 to go a little bit further and stay in Wytheville. Was not dissapointed. Stayed at the Quality, price was right, but they did have a water and sewer problem in some rooms, The sinks and toilets were backing up, so we would stay somewhere else, maybe one of the newer ones. Going down we ate at Smoky's grill, well we got take out and brought it back, it was great, then we went to a little mexican resturant within walking distance of the Quality, it was called El Porto, we knew we had to go for dinner on out return trip.
We did and had a fantastic time, in fact we talk about flying down just for dinner when we win the lotto. It left that type of impression on us, don't see it listed maybe it's not in operation, too bad, seemed to have a very loyal local following, or maybe they don't need to advertise.
