We will be going to Corralejo in Oct for a couple weeks and this is our first time.

Recommendations for actIvities ? We both in our 30s. Will do a bit of sunbathing and chill but would like to explore.

Worth hiring a car? We’ve booked half board Barcelo Corralejo Bay with Tui so airport transfer is sorted.

Many thanks

Fuerteventura is amazing lots of things to do stunning beaches to discover, have a look at Whatsonfuerteventura.com

Excursion shop run by Maitland, he'll be happy to help you organise a few trips

Hiring a car gives you the freedom to explore the island at your leisure.

Hire from Cicar.com they have an office on the main strip where you can pick up the car or have it delivered to your hotel.

Enjoy your holiday

If hiring a car then Caleta de Fuste and El Cotillo are nice places to visit. There is also a water park.

This link takes you to the current edition of Maitland's "What's On" guide. That will give you a good overview. Contact Maitland for advance bookings if need be or find him and his orange booklet in Hoplaco Gardens. Apart from spending a lot of time in and around Corralejo (plus perhaps a visit to Lobos island in the bay), I would advise you to explore the island in a hire car for a few days. It's really the only way to see the centre of the island (e.g. Betancuria) and the south, although El Cotillo can easily be reached by bus via some interesting villages.

You'll hear people say there's nothing but beaches here. There's actually a lot to see and do here, but it isn't dished up to tourists on a plate the way it is in some places. It's all about finding your own favourite spots, visiting little museums, and having lunch in very Canarian bar/café/restaurants in sleepy villages.

Suggest you buy sunflower book fuerteventura guide. (Can be cheap used version) Has suggested drives, walks etc.

We're going to hire a car for day trips to explore the island as we found the bus timetables around the island are difficult to coordinate on our previous visit.

If you have a car and enjoy walking you can come join the walks organised by The Corralejo Walkers Group. You will need stout trainers as a minimum. Our Facebook page illustrates what we do.

Hire a car. It's an easy island to drive around. We used Cabrera Medina/CiCar which we will use again in future definitely. Great company. We stayed in Corralejo for the first half of the holiday and toured around the north with the car. Then stayed in Caleta de Fuste and explored the south. Excellent holiday, excellent island to explore.
