Kid-friendly stuff around Middlebury?

I'm trying to make a case for an excursion from the Killington area to Middlebury to see the college and visit the Museum of Art. But there seem to be other more compellingly kid-friendly options (10yo girl) in different directions. Any suggestions for the Middlebury area appreciated, though. Trying to get no further than an hour or so from Killington.

Thank you.

Thanks all. We ended up heading in another direction, but will keep these options in mind for another vist.
