Burlington Visit- closest dogsledding, sleigh rides, etc.

Hi There

I am planning to surprise my husband with a Burlington Brew Tour so we will likely be staying right in or around Burlington. I would love for us to do dogsledding and/or a sleigh ride or other outdoor activities. Where is the closest place to Burlington in which this would be possible.

Also looking for a hotel or bed and breakfast that has fireplaces (or a grand fireplace) Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance (we would be traveling during 1 of the next 4 weeks)

I haven't been to this place but I ran across this link while looking for something else; it's a little over an hour from Burlington.

I really don't know any place in the Burlington area that would have fireplaces. It's more traditional chain hotels in Burlington, and the few B&Bs I don't think have fireplaces. However, if lack of a fireplace is not a deal breaker, then check out Willard Street Inn. http://www.willardstreetinn.com/home/ Also Green Mountain Suites does say "fireplace suites" but I am betting that they are gas and not real wood burning. www.greenmountainsuites.com/guestrooms.php

Shelburne Farms is the only nearby place I know that does sleigh rides but I believe they are done for the season. It may be worth a call since we have tons of snow still on the ground so they may operate later in the season than usual. shelburnefarms.org/calendar/event/sleigh-rid…
