Most resorts should still be open. Snowbird will be fore sure (they are almost always open until May). Typical conditions would be cold and icy mornings, then snow softens. We occasionally get a good storm in mid April.

Most resorts are about 30 to 45 minute drive from the airport.

The first week or two in April you should be fine at any resorts. After Sunday, Apr. 12 I would check carefully.

As the other responder noted, it's about 35-45 minutes to most of the close in resorts (Park City and Cottonwood Canyons), a bit more up to Snowbasin.

More than occassionally..our resorts get some big wet storms in April. April showers bring May flowers.

The skiing is consistently good and I always wish the resorts would stay open longer. The tourists are gone, the weather is lovely spring skiing, and the snow conditions are best from 10;30 to 2. Often you can find great discounts on tickets as well.
