Lunch Near Port or The Strand?

Any places on The Strand or near port where we can have lunch before leaving on our cruise? Preferably a place that has a variety of food (samdwiches, salads, hamburgers, etc.) We will have about 13 people in our group including kids, so we need to go to a place that has something for everyone.

The Gumbo Bar has variety, not just seafood. http://www.littledaddysgumbobar.com/home

For a sweet treat after lunch, stop by La King's Confectionary, an old-fashioned ice cream and candy parlor.

Welcome to Texas!!

knr is right about the (Little Daddy's) Gumbo Bar, but there's also nearby a place called Eatcetera that you might want to check out. It's at 408 25th St., and here's the latest menu: https:/…menu.

Bon voyage!

The Gumbo Bar seems like a good one...how close is it to the Carnival pier? We will be dropping off our luggage and car at the pier, so will be walking after that. So, we can't go to a place to far from the pier.

The Gumbo Bar is about 8 blocks or so from the terminal.

If you want something closer, go with Gene's suggestion for Eatcetera, which is about 4 blocks away. Or, there is a Fuddrucker's (most hamburgers) and other restaurants closer in.....we just haven't been to them.
