Want to avoid Bike Weeks in South Carolina-where to go??

Have been to Myrtle Beach just before Bike Week and the noise was deafening. We want to come to S. Carolina May 11 to 18, but defnitely want to avoid all Bike Weeks everywhere. Is there somewhere else we can go without going as far south as Hilton Head or Tybee? Driving from Canada. Please advise a great beach without the noise problems. Thank you very much!!!!

Either Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, or Edisto would suit your purposes. Look through those on the forum and see what you think.

Thanks VERY much for the tip. I'll check it out. I've been to your beautiful city of Charleston and am looking forward to coming back to South Carolina and the wonderful warmth of the people in your state. Love it!

I do have another question....what about the Wilmington area, which would be a bit shorter drive for us....would biker noise be a problem there, are the beaches nice and most important, is the ocean temp as warm as Myrtle or Charleston area at this time of year? Thanks very much :)

Depending on your accommodation and activity preferences, you might take a look at Lichfield and or Pawleys Island also. Both are just a few miles south of MB, but close enough if you decide you want a day in the activities located around MB. Beaches are great and much less commercialization.

Recommend Ocean Isle Beach or Sunset Beach, NC just south of Wilmington, NC

I have stayed in the Northern section of Myrtle Beach between 52nd and 76th Ave.N during bike week and had no problem at all.Try Beach Colony,Southwind ,Island Vista or Forest Dunes.
