Travelling from Australia with my 18 year old daughter at the end of May early June - can anyone suggest some “must do’s” in Greenville before she starts College?
Stay downtown and you can walk to lots of great restaurants, bars, shopping and other unique businesses. Visit Reedy Park and Swamp Rabbit Trail. Go over to Travelers Rest to look around. Also Asheville is a short hour or so drive. You can go to Smoke on the Water for good food that's reasonably priced. There is no shortage of good local dining. There is also a minor league baseball team with a great park. The South Carolina Botanical Garden is one of Greenville’s greatest green spaces.
Greenville is a wonderful small city to live and work in, but the Main Street area is the only real must see/do.Beyond that I'd look at Asheville, Hendersonville and even the small towns of Saluda and Brevard, all over the state line in North Carolina.
Will your daughter be attending Furman or Clemson?
