Naturist Beaches

We are in St Austell in a few weeks time and we have been naturists for years. We have not been to the West country for a long time and wonder if there are any official, or indeed unofficial naturist beaches in the vicinity

A few things but it depends where you are based. We were at St Austell for 3 days and Exeter for another 3. We visited Mevagissey, which is a must, also we used a lot of the coastal path, bit of a hike at times but well worth it for the panoramic views, Central Cafe in the middle of the village does great food at a good price. Park just outside the village, a big car park on your left as you go in, and walk the last 200m or so, driving in the village is terrible.

St Austell is OK but not worth spending too much time there, if the weather is good visit Vault Beach just along from Gorran Haven, lovely quiet unspoilt beach with few people using it.

Charlestown just outside St Austell is a charming little coastal cove and village, again great scenery and several nice cafes / restaurants.

In Devon we spent time in Exeter, I was pleasantly surprised , a nice city and good places to eat. We also visited Budleigh Salterton, very quaint, unspoilt with rather pebbly beach but nice places to eat.

We could have done load down there but as the weather was perfect we did use the beaches a lot and missed out on some of the many attractions set up for wetter or cloudier days.

As I said to someone it was like being abroad without the hastle of Gatwick
