I don't know how dependable they are, but I found a "taxi-fare+ site that says $14. I would assume (LOL) somewhere between that plus tip or maybe more.
Sorry, I don't think there is one correct answer to your question.
It wouldn't be a long or difficult drive from Edgefield to NW Vaughn. I'm sure traffic on that route would be much less of a hassle than what you find in Atlanta.
As for the $14 taxi fare -- that seems WAY low. From the airport to downtown is quite a bit more than that, and Edgefield is farther east than PDX and NW Vaughn a couple miles from the downtown hotel core. You could fill your gas tank (maybe twice) for the cost of a RT taxi fare.
There is a Black Rabbit Restaurant there. It's nice. But you will enjoy Merriweathers. Maybe they will come get you.

Update -- I checked the TaxiFareFinder website for Portland and it quotes a fare of $56.55 (including tip) for the 17.1-mile trip from McMenamin's Edgefield in Troutdale to Meriweather's on NW Vaughn.
Sounds about right as taxi from PDX to downtown is about $35 (without tip).Edited: 10 June 2013, 05:30
$14.00 cab fare did seem too good to be true. We're not worried about traffic or the difficulty of the drive--it's that no one wanted to be the designated driver. We like Oregon wines :)
Whoo! The fare finder I found is way off then. I am sorry but I don't taxi.
I am very *Glad** it got caught.
Maybe they could take you there to eat and you could taxi home. That would save you a ton.
Great idea MrsO Thanks!!
