Rockhounding, flyfishing, golfing, with dog - where to stay?

Hubby and I will take a 10-14 day vacation shortly after school lets out mid June. Looking for advice on where to stay. We'll bring our 2 Brittney dogs, so that narrows down our choices. I love, love, love the looks of Brasada, but what about the 'kid factor'? Trying to avoid hoards of kids after working with them for the year. We would like to:

flyfish

golf

swim

hike

rest

rollerblade????

rock-hounding

cook in

dine out

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Brasada has not become very crowded yet, probably because of it's rather remote location. From there you wil have to drive to enjoy many of the activities you mention since it's in Powell Butte (not Bend).

Do you prefer to stay at a resort? If so, then there are dog-friendly accommodations at Seventh Mountain, Sunriver, Black Butte, and Eagle Crest. You are more likely to run into more families at any of these resorts.

If you want to stay in town check the Ameritel (which is converting to a Hilton Garden Inn) or the Pine Ridge Inn, both in Bend. I think there are also some VRBO units at Mt Bachelor Village that might be pet friendly.

Hope this helps you get started in your search. Happy new year. :-)

Brasada is gorgeous but as the previous poster pointed out, it is quite remote. Since you mention the option of cooking, a vacation rental might be your best bet. Follow the links on visitbend.com to vacation rentals; quite a few are pet friendly and some are even on the river and so would offer swimming as well as floating and kayaking right out the back door.
