Best restaurant and anything else

We will be in Wooster the first part of August. Any recommendations for a good place to eat- all budget types? We will be there on business, but is there anything we should make sure not to miss while we are in the area?

I always enjoyed the Wooster Inn, but I haven't dined there in many years.

Check out Wooster's Ohio Light Opera. It's a regional favorite, especially for Gilbert & Sullivan.

Just southeast of Wooster is the most visited portion of Ohio Amish country, centered around Walnut Creek in Holmes County. Ohio Amish country, spread across seven counties, is the largest Amish community in the world.

East of Wooster in Canton is the Pro Football Hall of Fame and other attractions.

If you enjoy any genre of music, check out Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, nestled inside the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and arguably the best summer music venue in the U.S..

If you're fans of the Hollywood Golden Age, check out Malabar Farm State Park in Ohio's nearby Mohican Region.

Much of the above, and more, is discussed in the following travel article.

A visit to Cleveland also is possible, especially if you would like to catch an Indians game at Progressive Field, visit the Cleveland Museum of Art, one of the best in the U.S., tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, munch your way through the West Side Market, one of the best public indoor marekts in the U.S., gamble at Cleveland's new downtown casino, or otherwise enjoy the superb restaurants and entertainment menus in Cleveland's compact downtown. Good planning!

Thank you for taking time to reply. Sounds like a handful of things to consider around the area.

I would definitely recommend the South Market Bistro. The food is all locally sourced and I've never had a meal there that wasn't fantastic. It's small, so reservations are a good idea if you'll be in town over the weekend.

There's also a great little wine bar called Somar just down the street from South Market Bistro. They've got a cozy back patio and nice atmosphere.

In terms of a middle price range, there's a restaurant on Liberty Street called TJ's that has 99-cent champagne all day on Fridays. Downstairs in the same building at CW's, they've got great wings and reasonably priced all-american fare. Another local favorite downtown is Broken Rocks, which is more cafe style but serves freshly baked bread with every meal.

On Saturday mornings there's a cute farmer's market on the square downtown. (I believe it's from 8am-noon) It's a nice chance to walk around and get some produce, baked goods, etc.

If you like European comfort food, you'd be hard-pressed to find a value like the Henry Station.

What cuisines do you enjoy? For Mexican, I suggest El Campesino, on SR 83.

This thread is 5 years old. I'm sure the Original Poster has taken their trip. But...good info anyway.
