Might be obvious but be sure to make use of the early entrance to the park.

Have you read reviews of the Alton Towers Hotel on TA? You can usually find tips and info in those. I wrote one myself a while ago when we stayed there, and also for Splash Landings hotel.

Agree with catching the monorail early for the extra hour for hotel guests, when some of the rides are open from 9am. They will give you a list or have them on a board in reception.

You used to walk through the woods to the park for early hour, entering near Air and Nemesis rides, but last time we were there we could only go in via monorail to the main entrance, and show our hotel park tickets to be allowed through the rope into the park.

I don't know about the hotel, but son went to Alton Towers with the school today and they were charging £3.60 for a sausage roll !

As JoeintheUK says....make use of the early entrance. Son arrived there at 9.45am , they raced to the most popular rides and didn't have to wait long. When they went to get back on again, there was a 40 minutes wait. This then went to 2-3 hours for each ride. And that is in the middle of the week before the school hols start.

They had an absolutely great time though and he is still buzzing tonight :)

Have fun!

Yes Jas - people grumble about food prices in Disneyland Paris, but our theme parks charge just as much, if not more.

They don't have any water fountains here either, so you have to buy water or drinks. At least they have drinking fountains in DLP, and free Fastpass tickets.

I'm sure that when we first stayed in Splash Landings the waterpark was free for hotel guests, but now you have to pay for that as well.

try and plan your day around the savings you can find on their websites and coupons given to you in the park etc, its difficult but you can save lots if you eat at non peak times.

if you are stopping at the hotels then get to the monrail around 8.30 which will mean waiting buy you will get in the park just about first. make sure you know where the rides you want are situated, you will get plenty of goes if you know your way around.

buy one of those re fill bottles when you get to the park, will save you money on drinks

plan what rides you want to go on and but the fat pass options accordingly

We found the all you can eat pizza/salad buffet near the Runaway Train was good value for money.

I seem to remember that this was once a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant?
