I was womdering if anyone could tell me about the beach at Grand Bahia Principe Coba.
Is it swimable or does it have alot of seeweed.
Nature dictates the seaweed/sargassum and it’s been heavy over the last weeks, however last few days have seen a decrease. At the gran Bahia resorts they do their best to remove it daily. Swimming from the beach is ‘iffy’ as they have huge beach whales to reduce the current/ huge waves along the shoreline but st Akumal (luxury) section they have a beautiful sheltered lagoon you can access(as Coba guests), you just cant access the loungers, bars, restrooms there.
sargassum is annoying, but nothing can be done, except the hotel tidying it early in mornings.
Walk to the South of Coba drop off and there is a Beautiful , sea weed free swim area . Very sheltered clear and warm . North in front of Tequila/ Tulum is nice beach but big waves and some sea weed . Lots of choices and even isolated beach South of Akumal Adults , great walk [ with shoes on coral ]
