Can I get from Wood Islands, PE to Englishtown NS and back

I will be traveling in June to Prince Edward Island. I am bound and determined to see the puffins in Nova Scoria, but I need to know if Im being unrealistic. Can I leave on the Wood Island Ferry at 6:30 am, cross to Caribou, drive 2.5 hours to Englishtown, and catch the 1:30pm tour at Donelda's Puffin Boat Tours? If so, will I be able to take the 3 hour tour, drive back 2.5 hours to Caribou, catch another 75 minute ferry and drive 40 more minutes to Charlottetown? I fear it's too ambitious as I will have 2 pre-teens with me. Also, I'm not superhuman and I know there will be stops for food and bathroom breaks. Any help, or alternatives are greatly appreciated!
