Ben Franklin/Five and Dime Store

Is there a Five and Dime, olde fashioned store in the OBX. Like a Ben Franklin, Woolworths type. Any suggestions for old tyme diners or eateries? Thanks.

There is a Ben Franklin at MP 10 on the Bypass in Nags Head.

While there is a Ben Franklin and it has been here for 20+ years it is anything like the old style, it is more like a Wings store with nothing made in America except candy in it.

The only old style eatery might be the Kill Devil Grill on the beach road. It is an old style dinner with a whole building added to the back that has many tables and the kitchen. If you want the feel of 1950 just sit in the front dinner section at the bar. The food there is excellent to, which never hurts the visit.

Sam & Omie's is the best old time local feel you can get!

Nags Head, NC on the Beach Road at the 16 1/2 milepost, near Whalebone Junction.

Can't wait for my next visit.

Sam N Omies is just wonderful. Great food and old school OBX. Not fussy, just delicious and comfortable.
