Niagra Falls.. is 4 days too long?

OK, I was last there 40 years ago. Admittedly things must have changed. But I don't recall anything but the falls and a wax museum. We will have ( 2 ) 17 year old girls with us. All I see ahead for them is boredom after seeing the falls.... So what might keep the kids interested? And me, too.

Hi Papa_Deuce;

1 day IMHO, would be more than enough if limiting yourself to the American side. There is **MUCH** more to see & do on the Canadian side.

FYI...citizens of the United States require one of the following to cross the border, by land.

• U.S. Passport

• U.S. Passport Card

• Enhanced Driver’s License (EDL)

• Trusted Traveler Program Card

Best Regards

p.s. please note the correct spelling - Niagara Falls

I think that's about 2 days too long, but somewhat depends on what your priorities are.

I think 2 ays is enough to see both sides of the Falls, at lest one of the boat rides, the Cave of the Winds and assorted other sights. Do stay on the Canadian side in one of the Falls View hotels - with floor to ceiling windows to view the flood lit falls at night.

Also on the Canadian side - the adorable town of Niagara on the Lake and a number of wineries. And it's only about 1.5 hours to Toronto - which has tons to see and do.

I don't get the allure of (artificial) flood lights but to each his/her own.

Your daughters would probably be bored at wineries.

IMO, one full day at the falls is enough. Head to Toronto as suggested or if you want/need to stay in the US, consider Buffalo (Elmwood Ave is fun to check out) and/or the Finger Lakes region.

There are great state parks throughout the Finger Lakes - Letchworth State Park ("Grand Canyon of the East") is a couple of hours east of Niagara Falls.

There is a theme park (Darien Lake) about 45 minutes east of Buffalo.

If interested in a boat ride on the Erie Canal, that can be done in Lockport (north). There are caves there as well.

Have a great time!
