I can recommend a traditional bed&breakfast in Greenport: Harbor Knoll harborknoll.com

Not sure how many rooms they have to accommodate your party.

For house rentals did you already check e.g. airbnb.com and not find anything to your liking?

Renting a whole house for less than a week is extremely unlikely -and they usually rent from Sat to Sat. You can check Air BnB and also VRBO - to see if there is anything in your budget that will be flexible to fit your timing will I think be a challenge.

How are you planning to get there? Car rental? LIRR? Hampton Jitney? The latter requires advance reservations since is often sells out.

I tried to do the same for our daughter’s wedding last summer in Westhampton Beach and found no houses available for at least a week’s rental. August is high season and owners hold out for the highest rental. It sounds unfriendly but it is what the market will bear.

Sorry...forgot to add that we stayed at one of the hotels in Riverhead & used a combination of the hotel shuttles and Uber to go back & forth. Good luck with your planning....great time to get it all sorted out. August is a very busy month on Long Island.
