Things to do!

My parents and I plan on staying near SNHU for graduation next year. Just wondering what cool places there are in the area, indoor or outdoor! Even an hour or two drive is fine! Thanks!

This is a pretty broad question. An hour or two from Manchester will take you to Boston and beyond in that direction. In NH you have a choice of the Lakes Region, White Mountains, Seacoast of NH and Maine, Monadnock Region. Plus there are some local attractions to explore and enjoy in Manchester, including the Currier Museum, NH Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) baseball, many very good restaurants on Elm Street and Hanover Street in downtown Manchester. And more. It all depends on what your interests are, how long you will be here, and if you plan to travel around a bit. It is not necessary to stay in one place if you want to enjoy an area that is an hour or more away.

Manchester is a nice little city with several good places to eat, like the Republic Cafe. In manchester there is the Currier Art Museum - very nice. Within an hour or two you have tons of options:

The seacoast - Portsmouth NH, York, Ogunquit, Kennebunkport, Portland Maine. there are some beautiful beaches, lighthouses, etc in this area.

Boston - one of America's great cities.

The lakes and White Mountains of New Hampshire - breathtaking scenery, hiking, boating, moose, waterfalls, etc.

Concord NH - the state capital, fun little city to walk around, lots of good restaurants, planetarium.

Canterbury Shaker village - very unique historic village.

Lake Sunapee region - beautiful lake, hikes, farms, picturesque villages.

Peterborough - Fun, artsy little town, picturesque countryside.

If you are into shopping, New Hampshire is tax free and there are miles of malls and such on rte 3 in the Nashua area.
