Why I keep coming back.

I have been looking for a place to take my adult family to celebrate a special birthday this summer. I have spent a good amount of time trying to find someplace other than Vegas since we have all been numerous times.

In looking at resorts around the Western Hemisphere, I consistently run up against the following complaints - mediocre food, poor service, bugs, small casino and various other issues. Each time I read one of them I think, what is it that they have that Vegas doesn't? And the answer (in the summer) is nothing.

So once again, I guess my vacation dollars will be spent in Vegas where I know the food is great, I can gamble when and where I want and know the pools and service will be top notch.

Sorry Caribbean either at a resort or on a cruise, you don't get picked again this year.

Happy New Year everyone. Hope 2012 includes at least one trip to my Emerald City.

I enjoy Las Vegas and vacation there as much as I can. But, there are so many wonderful places in the world and in the western hemisphere. Some like to vacation at the same place while others like to explore.

I love vacations in Vegas for 3 to 5 days. However, I will be hanging with friends for an entire week in April :).

If your only after Casinos then stick to Vegas, but if you want variety consider: New Orleans, Atlantas in the Bahamas, Cabo in Mexico, Peru, Manaus - Brazil, and the list goes on.

Heck, I even find fun like today at Universal Orlando and last week in Miami.

Las Vegas is a top favorite of mine, but the world is large with lots of adventure.

I think you're both right....I often keep coming back to Vegas when planning my winter escapes each year....but there are other great places to see...I have done Atlantis, Orlando parks, cruises, etc and thoroughly enjoyed them, but I still have to sneak a Vegas escape in,too. If I had to pick only one place to vacation for the rest of my life, it would be Vegas....I can't beat the prices there and in all the trips over the years there's so much I haven't seen and done yet...the others are great, but there's no place like "home"

Thanks I have definitely been to a few of those places and I guess there is a limit to my air fare budget. But for a combination of pool time, relaxation, shopping, great food and some gambling, Vegas is hard to beat.

Happy New Year damama! We weren't sure if we would make it to Vegas in 2012 so we are flying through there for our Napa trip so we get 1 night in our favorite place.

While Las Vegas has some of the best gaming on the planet I dont consider it a resort, there are too many other beautiful places to vacation that are paradise compared to Vegas.

Yes, vegas is half the cost compared to other places.

Yes, vegas has much going for it except for an ocean.

But LV is not the only game in town.

The Greenbriar and the Homestead are both fine resorts.

I think the key to what you said was "adult family".

When that grandbaby gets older, and he gets more siblings and cousins, Orlando and cruising are going to be contenders.

Oh, good idea BL, we never seem to think of places like that.

As I've told damama, we have also had great fun just renting a house on the beach with ours.

damama, I understand. At this point in my life, Las Vegas satisfies all of what i'm usually looking for in an adult vacation.

We sometimes mix in a cruise or beach vacation, but always come back to our jewel of the desert!
