Where to eat near the strip on a budget

Hello all.

The girlfriend and I are headed to Vegas in December, we have been there many times, and are hoping to find some good new places to eat.

We used to love the buffets there, and ate pretty much exclusively at them, but in the last few years we noticed the prices going way up, while the quality went down, so we kind of stopped going to them.

Last year when we were there we tried a few good places, KGB burger, BLT Burger, Max Brenners, Hash House A Go Go and a few others.

So just looking for any other places that are close to the strip (we don't drive) and aren't too expensive.

We both prefer casual dining, and like almost any food except for seafood.

Thanks for any tips.

It would help if you gave people some info as to what you want to spend per meal such as $10 per person for breakfast and so on.

Hi

Have you tried Earl of Sandwhich? It's in PH. Enjoyed food there.

TGI Fridays in Gold Coast have early bird specials usually.

Also why not go downtown, there are a few places to eat well there, Triple7 brew pub in MMS Pasta Pirate in the California and Flame (with coupon from ACG) in the El Co. All really good value.

Grand Lux in the Venetian is a good choice, Harley Davidson Cafe on the strip (and you can usually find certificate on restaurant.com). There are many good choices in the food courts and Planet Hollywood, Venetian and MGM. Check out the reviews for restaurants, you will find plenty.

Milos at the Cosmopolitan has an exceptional value- a three course lunch for only $20.11. You can make it your main meal of the day. The food is fantastic and you can ask to be seated on its lovely patio-some tables overlook the strip/CityCenter. It is the best deal in town since you will be eating at an elegant, upscale (but casual for lunch) and expensive (for dinner) restaurant. It has changed its menu a bit, but these two reviews will show the food, restaurant and patio. It now serves lunch every day. You just can't do better than this:

Another review by a well known Vegas food critic:

If you take the free shuttle from Bill's to the Gold Coast, Noodle Exchange has wonderful food in a casual setting. It serves a lunch special until 4PM- fried/white rice, soup, spring roll and the entree-$7. It is very good:

I echo the suggestion of Earl of Sandwich. Yes it's a fast food chain, but honestly, one of the best hot sandwiches I've ever had, and very reasonably priced by Vegas standards.

Thank you for all the tips

As for price, I'd say a main for $10.00-$15.00 is what I'd like.

We have been to Earl of Sandwich and liked it (had a nice turkey topped with cranberry)

The only time we tried eating downtown was at the buffet in the Golden Nugget, didn't love it, but now I have some suggestions up there, I'll add them to my list.

Oddly enough I've never tried eating at the Harley Davidson Cafe, have only ever gone there to look at their tshirts lol.

And that you for the restaurant.com suggestion, I tried looking at it when I saw it mentioned in the forums here, but vegas wasn't listed on their cities to choose from.

When you mentioned it I googled it with las vegas and found a link.

Milo's and Noodle exchange have been added to my list, thank you

If you do go to the Harley cafe, I'll suggest the chili -- quite tasty. And i usually try to stop in at Ellis Island, where you can get good beer cheap, nice sandwiches, and the steak special which is a good price.

I agree with what everyone else is saying...you can get gift certs off restaurant.com, use entertainment book, look for coupons, fast food, many of the cafes in the casino are decent and have specials...and look up all the unadvertised specials like steak dinners and such.....look for cheap eats like $1.00 hot dogs, etc....We usually buy stuff for breakfast and I like to have one buffett, maybe a lunch one which fills me up for most of the day and then a light snack/meal at night
