Bellagio or Venetian - I can't decide!

I have narrowed my choice down to these two hotels but I really cannot decide between them.

I am taking my wife to be on a surprise honeymoon to Vegas after our wedding in June for a week.

Bellagio is better location I understand and needs a Lake View room whereas Venetian has better rooms and is amazing inside.

Can anyone provide any additional tips to help me decide?

HELP!!!!!

My 2 favorite hotels, and the dilemma we always face...wish they would put the fountains in front of Venetian!

But if you usually stay in regular rooms (not suites) then I would go for the Bellagio Lakeview.

Have you been to Las Vegas before?

Either hotel is a fine choice.

The Bellagio does have the center strip spot, but the location of the Venetian is still in the middle of the action. The lakeview rooms at the B do have a view of the fountains, but keep in mind that it is a slightly older hotel than the V and the rooms are starting to show wear, although it is still one of the nicest places to stay in Vegas.

For me, Venetian is better because the rooms are bigger and nicer. Admittedly, I'm biased because I got married there and love that place. However I also like the casino there better and the dining choices are better IMO. It also has easy access to Wynn/Encore and is across the street from TI and Mirage.

No matter what you're going to want to explore Bellagio, Caesars, Venetian, and just in general take time to go in and out of all the casinos and hotels on the strip.

I'm a Venetian fan for a number of reasons and would choose it over Bellagio for myself without hesitation. But Bellagio is an excellent hotel and for a honeymoon a lakeview room is tough to beat. It's a tough call but in your circumstances I say go with Bellagio.

My favorites also. I don't think you'll be disappointed no matter which you choose.

Romantic honeymoon I'd totally pick the Bellagio lakeview. You can do all the Venetian romantic stuff (gondola ride, etc) without staying in the hotel.

Venetian rooms are nice, and big, but the B lakeview room is an amazing experience. You're standing at the big windows, with your wife and your drink, watching the fountain show while the music plays out of the TV....ahhhhhhh!

Thanks for all the advice so far.

It will be our first trip to Vegas. The Bellagio looks as if it has nicer views over Paris & the lake (in a lake view room), but i have heard great things about the Venetian from people I know who have been to Vegas.

Finding it tough to choose between them and prices are similar for the week on upgrading to a Lake View Room at the Bellagio.

If you're going for a whole week why not split your stay half and half?

Warm is correct. Splitting your time between the two is the logical thing to do.

i have never stayed at the v- hate the smell and it is huge! (maybe someday) but i have stayed in a b lakeview room- like others have said... nothing like a cocktail and piece of cheesecake watching the fountain show with your honey!

but the split is a good idea- then you can give us the comparisons.

I agree about splitting your time between the two. We always stay at two different hotels sometime even 3 if were there a long time. It's fun to have a change and not much of a hassle.
