Firstly, in November we need to travel from airport to Summer Bay (Koval Ave) - I found this on previous post "Swenson to Paradise, to Flamingo to Kovall". If I don't give instructions, is there any chance I'd be tunneled?
Secondly need to get from Summer Bay to Mirage - again, do I need to give instructions and any idea of approx. cost?

Neither one of those should require instructions. The prices should be fairly minimal. $10-$15.
I agree that niether one should require that you specify directions, particularly the second trip. However, I would suggest you tell the cab driver to take Swenson from the airport, just in case he sees you as fresh bait.
Cheers experts - just have to open my mouth and it's obvious I'm not from your shores so will be sure to request "via Swenson". Appreciated!

341 reviews HitchHiker55 I heard that reference to fresh bait - been there! Our first time to NYC we were gouged by more than one taxi driver taking "the long way home" We learned to have an idea as to what the route should be and pay attention.
