Yes you can.

I brought back a $1 chip from Luxor, Paris and Bellagio.

I glued them onto a Vegas postcard and hung it on our 'memories' board.

Cheers

That's cute! Last time I brought back a few different casinos' cash out tickets with tiny values (like one or two cents heehee) to use as bookmarks - almost cheers up that dreary bus ride to work. Vegas dreaming on a gloomy Scottish-weather day!

I guess the chips are just like bringing dollar bills back home, and being low denominations I doubt anyone would bat an eyelid. They are worthless away from the casinos anyway, and you're actually doing the casinos a tiny favour in not cashing them out!

Somebody will know this for sure but I have a feeling that tokens (to give them their correct name) are legally the property of the casino.

Of course in reality nobody's going to stop you taking them with you. Thousands are kept as souvenirs every year.

yes, you can. Just, um, dont try to eat them...lol. Some of those chips have RFID chips in them (hmm...chip in a chip...) and surely they don't taste good with any dip :)

Many people do exactly that: take a chip home from every casino they visit. Some even have elaborate display cases for them. As far as I know- nobody has been arrested yet! lol

You bet you can and the casinos really like the idea. That means they have your money and will likely never exchange it.

I am sure the casinos love it. It probably cost them a nickel to produce and they get to keep your dollar.

Yep,the casinos love having you take their chips home and never redeem them. As a matter of fact, the bigger the denomination the better! :)

I use one as my ball mark during golf (as long as it's not truly in the line of another player).

This does lead to an interesting question. I wonder how much it does cost to produce a chip (especially those with electronic chips inside). Is it possible that a $1 chip is actually worth more than $1 to the casino? You know, like if a penny were truly made out of 100% copper, it would be worth a whole lot more than 1 cent.
