Flathead lake in June

Flathead lake in June

I will staying in a cabin on Flathead lake (near Polson) in June. I know that the weather can be rainy in June and there is often still snow at any type of elevation. I'm wondering if there are any hikes accessible during this time within a few hours drive? And what else can you do in Montana in the month of June?

Everything!

In Polson you're close to Wildhorse Island. You could rent a boat and go out there.

Drive up either side of the lake and stop at the Cherry stands to taste the best cherries in the Northwest.

Go in to Bigfork to experience a posh small town with art galleries on every corner.

Drive a little further and head up to Glacier National Park for the day. Plenty of hiking and picnic spots up there.

Up the Swan Highway you'll find hiking around the lakes.

For any hiking you do there, read up precautions to take as bears and mountain lions are prevalent.
