First time in Branson....a few questions

We are coming because of a Holiday inn time share (I know, but I have trouble saying no). Keep your fingers crossed for us as we aren't sure what we've gotten ourselves into with that.

We don't wanna spend a heap of money on entertainment and would love to see nature. Heard of the rock....not sure exactly what it is, but is there a way to see it without it costing a bunch of money?

Are there any sights to see that don't cost? We don't mind a hike. Love to see new places.

I am not crazy about a show that's gonna cost a us 100$. W adults and 2 kids (9 and 7) Oct 7 through 9.

Thank you for any info.

I think the fish hatchery by the dam is free. Can walk around Branson Landing (mall) for free and see the fountain shows, etc. Get a free show by having lunch at Mels Hard Luck Diner where the servers sing while serving! Most of the attractions have a fee of course but you can drive around the Ozarks for great views of the scenery. People kept recommending we should just go and visit Bass Pro Shop because its so huge (we didn't). There is also a Table Rock state park nearby and there is supposed to be a nice walking trail along the lake as well.

The Rock is Top of the Rock, which you can google and checkout their site attractions.

We love Silver Dollar City and feel that it is a good bang for the buck as it is all day entertainment.

Check out the College of the Ozarks. They have a farm equipment museum that is free, a pay to enter museum that is a couple stories and has quite a bit of interesting stuff in it and a grist mill you can check out. While there have a meal at Dobyn's Dining Room or try some ice cream from the dairy cows there on property. Not completely free but for Branson prices a bargain.

Would also recommend SDC as a decent deal for an entire days worth of entertainment and there is usually a music show in the evening that is free with ticket purchase.

Be sure to go to the Branson Landing. Depending on when you are in Branson, sometimes they have free concerts.
