The older I get, the less ability I have to tolerate cold water. We used to vacation in Maine, but have been coming to the Cape for four years thanks to its warmer water.
I have seen countless comments on Nantucket Sound having the warmest water. Based on our exploring, that is definitely true - although the bay side beaches we went to weren't as bad as I was expecting. I even went into the water at Head of the Meadow, but it was certainly colder than I like.
My question is this: Are there any beaches on Nantucket Sound that tend to be warmer than average - or are they all about the same? Sometimes those couple extra degrees make all of the difference.
Also, what week tends have the warmest water on average? End of July? Mid-August?
