Base location for siteseeing in a week

What is a good location for setting up house for a week and traveling the coast minimizing daily drives? I know we can't see the whole coast, but any recommendatiions on what to see on our first trip would be great.

thanks

You could rent a house in the Acadia National Park area. A house in Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, or the Tremont area would be perfect for exploring all of Acadia National Park. You could then take day trips down the coast to Deer Isle and the town of Stonington. Or you could go up the coast to the towns of Machias and Lubec. In a long day trip, you could drive down to Camden and Rockland.
