Chicago White Sox/Yankees Game

We have a group of family that is going to the White Sox game in August but not really looking to stay down in that area, more downtown area, or something near the Red Line so we can get transportation to the game. Any suggestions? Looking for a safe area. Do all of the hotels charge for parking? Thanks!

Many hotels downtown are close to a CTA red line train station. You'll take that train to the ballpark.

www.spothero.com and www.parkwhiz.com to locate and save $$ on parking downtown. Free parking downtown is nonexistent.

Hotels in the Loop or River North will have convenient access to the Red Line south to Sox Park (or Wrigley to the north). Do a search on TA/Kayak/your favorite hotel booking site to find the hotel which fits your budget/style and go from there.

As noted, free parking does not exist (does not exist in any major urban area, really) but using sites like SpotHero can make a big difference in parking charges. Just park your car once and use your own two feet/public transportation/Uber while you're here. Google Maps can give you point-to-point public transportation/walking directions.

One last thing... don't buy tickets from a guy at the stadium or on Craigslist. Use the team's website or StubHub.

Enjoy the game!
