Where is a good place to celebrate on New Years Eve?
However, if you mean in Key West, anywhere on Duval Street between Caroline and Petronia. There are 2 midnight "drop" events. One at Sloppy Joe's where they drop a Conch shell at midnight and one at Bourbon Street Pub, where a drag queen is lowered in a giant shoe at midnight. Either of these will be packed with people in the streets. There is also a slightly lower key party at Schooner Wharf along the harbor where they lower a pirate wench from the roof at midnight. Bars are open and busy, but the party is in the street.
We were there last New Year’s Eve and enjoyed the conch drop outside sloppy Joes. There are drops at schoooners, bourbon street, sunset pier.
This year we just got tickets for a music event featuring Eddie Money at the new amiptheatre! We will watch the drop at schooners after the show.
Is the amphitheatre done? I looked for info but was not successful.
Bgsleep - Yes I believe it is finished.
Not finished per se but usable if that makes sense. The surrounding park etc is still a work in progress.
SDT: NO IT IS NOT, trust me LOL! All of us New Yorkers avoid the city like the plague on New Years Eve! That said, I like the rest of your post :-)
I agree, be as far away from NYC as you can on NYE, it's not fun. To answer the question, I like celebrating at SWB because it's a lot of fun and much more laid back than the other venues in town.
So since we're in KW for NYE wants the attire? Costumes? I know anything goes in KW just asking
