Crabbing and Clamming

Hi, Does anyone know if spots to go clamming and crabbing are near Bethany? Do tackle shops rent the necessary equipment?

Thank you.

Assawoman and Indian River bays have crabbing and clamming. Son's family rented a boat last week for a day of crabbing in Assawoman.

Check these guys out:

It’s an old school bait and tackle shop just north of Bethany. They rent equipment, and are quite knowledgeable about crabbing and clamming locations.

Following this thread. We took your advice and rented a boat for Indian River bay. Where is the best place to go clamming or crapping. Do you need a license or anything?

Hopefully this link will work. You will need a license and you can pick it up many places or online. If you're in the area of G and E Hardware on Cedar Neck Road it is a quick and easy process.

There are other places to crab. Ask at either the hardware store or the inlet tackle and they are willing to help out.

Hi! A fishing license is required to crab in Delaware waters. Here are some tips and locations about crabbing in Delaware: https:/… Have a good day!

Be careful going in the water, tho. Man just got flesh-eating bacteria, lost his leg & then his life, was crabbing in Assawoman but had a cut on his leg. Another one lost his finger, pricked a finger on a fish bone while cleaning it. The bacteria grows faster when it's warm.
