Willows condos vs Crestwood - any advice?

We are considering the Willows condos for a ski trip in January 2009 but can't find any reviews. The price is surprisingly/alarmingly reasonable compared to properties like Crestwood. Is there a big tradeoff other than a longer walk to the lift? It is billed as ski in/out but looks to be about 150 yards walk? Wondering about the size of the units. As a side note, we stayed at Crestwood 2 seasons ago and had a cramped outdated unit that really needed improvement, although others in our group had much nicer units, so we are on the fence about whether it makes sense to pay almost twice the price for Crestwood vs Willows. Any recommendations on other reasonably priced ski in/out properties? Thanks in advance for any info.

The Willows is a tiny little property with very few units in rental pools anywhere. It's mostly occupied with local homeowners, so it doesn't suprise me that there are no reviews around.

It would say it is a pretty big difference between the two properties. With Willows you would check in at another location and there are very limited services on site. I don't think they have their own pool or hot tubs, though your management company has likely made arrangements at a property next door for your use.

Crestwood has all of their staff on site, provide grocery and liquor shopping, fitness room, pools, etc. so it's a completely different experience on the service side.

On the room decor side, that always depends on the unit you get. At Crestwood perhaps you booked the lowest category of rooms and the others didn't, or perhaps they were upgraded and you weren't. If decor is really important to you pay for the higher categories. And the same will apply at Willows. Every owner redecorates on their own schedule and the rooms are priced accordingly. If you don't think you'll make use of the services of Crestwood than you're probably fine at Willows- but talk to the staff about decor.

Thanks Jennifer74 for your guidance! It also appears that the Willows is ~150 yard walk to the slope/lift whereas the Crestwood unit that we're considering is directly adjacent to the slope, just a short walk out the back door because it's a ground floor unit. It always aggravates me when the term ski in / ski out is applied to a property that far away, but the Willows appears to be a great value if that can be overlooked and if the services aren't critical.

Thanks again!
